Kasey Obenshain is an Associate attorney in the Dallas office for Godwin Bowman PC, where she deals with a broad spectrum of complex legal issues ranging from Creditors’ Rights issues to complex civil litigation matters in both state and federal court.
Kasey earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Business Management and Honors College Degree summa cum laude from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Kasey earned her joint Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Southern Methodist University in Dallas in May 2025.
During law school, Kasey served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Cox School of Business. She also interned for the Honorable Harlin D. Hale of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas and for Judge Jodi W. Dishman of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.
In addition, Kasey clerked with an oil-and-gas pipeline regulatory law firm, where she gained experience in energy regulation and compliance. Kasey was, also, selected as a “Women in Energy” Scholar by the Association of International Petroleum (Energy) Negotiators.
Prior to joining Godwin Bowman, Kasey served as a Landman for a large oil and gas operator, where she acquired and negotiated oil and gas leases throughout the Permian Basin.
Kasey is licensed to practice law in Texas and New Mexico.
