Donald E. Godwin Earns Place Among D Magazine’s Best Lawyers Hall of Fame

Godwin Bowman PC Chairman and CEO Donald E. Godwin has earned a place in the Best Lawyers in Dallas Hall of Fame, an honor reserved for the North Texas’ elite attorneys who have displayed consistent excellence by being selected to D Magazine’s “Best Lawyers” list a minimum of 15 times.

Mr. Godwin has regularly been named to D’s Best Lawyers list based on his Business/Commercial Litigation practice. One of the most successful trial attorneys in the country, he has represented high-profile individuals, entrepreneurs and Fortune 500 companies in complex, bet-the-company litigation involving oil and gas, environmental, fiduciary duties, will contests, major family law disputes, and business torts throughout his storied career.

In a career spanning more than 50 years, Mr. Godwin has forged a reputation as one of the most respected and tenacious trial lawyers in Texas.

Mr. Godwin’s experience has consistently earned professional honors and recognitions, including Chambers USA, Benchmark Litigation, Best Lawyers in America, Texas Super Lawyers, Dallas 500, Texas Lawbook and the Dallas Bar Association, in addition to Best Lawyers in Dallas. He has been selected as a Living Legend by the Dallas Bar Association and to the Lawdragon 500 Hall of Fame. In 2024 he became the 13th recipient of the Robert G. Storey Award for Distinguished Lifetime Achievement, the highest honor bestowed by the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.  He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and an executive board member of the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
