Sid Scheinberg, chair of the Godwin Bowman PC Bankruptcy/Creditors’ Rights section has been named to the Lawdragon 500 Leading Global Bankruptcy & Restructuring legal guide for a third consecutive year.
Lawdragon says its 2026 list honors attorneys “who can keep their cool for companies, investors, governments and others on the fiscal precipice,” helping distressed firms work through sales, reorganizations and, when necessary, liquidation.
Mr. Scheinberg represents secured creditors, such as automobile finance companies and national banking associations, before bankruptcy courts. His clients have included Bank of America, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota Financial Services, Nissan and GM Financial.
He is regularly consulted by media outlets for comment and analysis on complex bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 11 filings involving Saks Global, which owns Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, and Chasen Companies, a real estate development firm in Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
He also teaches Continuing Legal Education classes on bankruptcy and is a frequent contributor to Road Dog News on SiriusXM 146.
